Happiness Handbooks by La-Verne Parris: A Book Review

I am completely overjoyed to bring you this book review. I was blown aways by how profoundly it touched me, as I am focusing on bringing more joy into many aspects of my life and this book answered many of my questions. I even saw myself in some of the scenarios! Note: While it was a paid review, all thoughts are completely and absolutely my own. Let’s dive in:

Happiness Handbooks is a set of 6 handbooks wrapped in a neat little package and I had the best time, not only reading it, but applying the aphorisms to my life. These days, many of us, myself included struggle with finding happiness in each and everything we do, but these books take you back to the basics of how to do so, without all of the fluff and buzzwords that are found in many self-help books.

Are you in need of a book review?

One of my favorite things about this book was that it acted as a workbook. The book took me through fears that I was afraid to speak aloud and told me that while it was ok to be afraid, it wasn’t acceptable for me to give up on my dreams. This book is that best friend that you can count on to talk you into keeping up the good fight. You can write in this book and go back to read through it whenever you feel the need to.

Each handbook contains 10 practical steps that we can all identify with. Parris gives pep talks throughout the book that had me feeing so full of joy and vigor!

This book was amazing! Look at the joy that the author emits just from looking at the work she’s created!

Are you ready to get your very own copy of the book?

One of my favorite quotes in the book was,

You are putting yourself and your needs first. You have entered a new and important chapter in your life; a chapter where you begin taking action for you. It is time to Enter the You

.

It is so important that we truly believe in ourselves and take aligned action to become better versions of ourselves each and everyday. This book will remind you of that, which is why you need to get your copy today!

This book was written for everyone to reclaim their own beauty and to let it shine. It is beyond time that we reject other people’s standards of beauty and define such an ideal for ourselves.

I not only felt La-Verne’s love and compassion for others while reading these handbooks, but I also felt her love and acceptance of herself as a beautiful, unique human being. She spoke of a few of her own trials in life and what she used to move forward, which is a joy and zest for all life that we should all be using to make the world a better place.

I couldn’t recommend this book more if I tried and I am considering reading it with some of the adolescent girls that I teach.

The message that I derive from this amazing book was that joy begets more joy. It is time we let go of what is holding us back and truly define what happiness means. It is time to continue with our education, move to a new place, let go of that stifling relationship, and grow out our perms. Grab Happiness Handbooks and let’s do our parts to make the world a better place. Check out what else La-Verne had to say about her book in this interview from last week!
