Time Management and the Black Community

There's a beautiful book that has really shifted my mindset about time management and I think you should check it out. The book is called It's About Time and it's written by Valorie Burton, the bestselling author of Successful Women Think Differently.

In this book, the author conveys the importance of choosing to spend time on things that really matter, rather than making everything a priority and ultimately feeling completely overwhelmed. As a business owner, teacher, daughter, sister, and friend, I have most definitely been there and it doesn't feel good. Sometimes, you have to stop the madness and sit in the moment where you can enjoy these things.

This book is full of self-reflective activities, which allow one to determine how they can be better spending their time. One of the biggest things I learned from this book is that there are different types of optimism and pessimism. This type of categorization assists with delving into what is truly holding one back in life and what one's approach to life may be. I love a book that helps me to look within; this is one truly how self-help works.

Grab a copy of this book and change your life.

When speaking about declining female happiness due to leaving the home to work, based on a paper entititled, "The Paradox of Declining Female Happiness," the author conveyed that this paradox didn't seem to include Black women. In fact, our happiness levels were high and so were the levels of our handsome counterparts, Black men! According to Burton, Black men's happiness levels were even higher!

This book is filled with research and exercises that are excellent for your book club or Mastermind Group. This book allows you to explore your strengths and weaknesses and get to know yourself better.

I highly recommend this book!
